About Us
We are a Puerto Rican nonprofit and private entity. Founded in Puerto Rico in 1958 by Robert D. Ehret and his beloved wife Elta Yoder under deep principles of Jesus Christ of Nazaret for religious, charitable, benevolent, scientific, health, humanitarian, and educational purposes. The Foundation provides assistance and helps nonprofit institutions operating in Puerto Rico or serving Puerto Rico, all in the love and name of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Our mission is to continue the legacy that our founders Robert D. Ehret and his wife Elta left us, helping the most vulnerable community in Puerto Rico throughout the distribution of part of the net profits of its wholly owned subsidiary, Ehret Funeral Home, to local nonprofit entities. Our inspiration is Helping those who want to help.

We provide assistance to nonprofit entities that provide the following services to our community:

¿How can I make a donation to the Foundation?
The Robert D. Ehret-Good Samaritan Foundation does not receive external donations. The Foundation only receives profits from its wholly owned subsidiary, Ehret Funeral Home.

¿Which entities can apply to obtain the funds?
The funds are granted to nonprofit charity based institutions operating in Puerto Rico or serving the Puerto Rican community. The institutions should be health centers, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, entities providing education, training and homes for participants with diverse capabilities, shelter for kids, women, the elderlies, the homeless and community centers. ¿What services provides the Foundation?
The Foundation provides help and assistance to nonprofit charity based institutions throughout approval of proposals received during proposal period.

¿For what kind of articles did the Foundation grant funds?
Articles requested by the entities are:
For shelters:- Kitchen cabinets & appliances, general household appliances & furniture, living room sets, bedroom furniture, water tanks, security systems, televisions, air purifiers and emergency buttons Office Items:
- Office equipment and supplies Repairs or minor constructions:
- Ceiling and bath repair to meet ADA requirement, kitchen, first aid area and playground remodeling, tile repairs and paint jobs, doors, screens and electric gates Education or specialized equipment: Landscaping, health, music, baking, exercise equipment

¿How many years of service do the entities should have to obtain the funds?
The institutions should have been in operations for a minimun of two years.

¿How frequently can we apply for the funds?
Participation is not limited, but once funds are received the intitutions should wait 1 year before submitting another proposal.
